MSU Student With Third MIP Charge Gets Second Diversion

On Behalf of | Sep 17, 2015 | Case Results, Firm News

A 19-year-old Michigan State University student found herself facing her third minor in possession of alcohol charge. With her age being a huge factor and having previously faced multiple MIP charges, the consequences would prove to be serious. Previously the East Lansing student received a diversion for the same charge through the county. With this new MIP charge in Ingham County, it was unlikely she would receive a second diversion from her record.

Working with the prosecutor, DeBruin understood the challenge ahead. Using her legal skills and knowledge she successfully got another diversion for her client. As a result of her hard work, our client does not have a single MIP charge on her record. DeBruin and her client would have seen a much different result if was not diverted.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
