An out-of-state CDL holder was recently cited for careless driving in Livingston County. Attorney DeBruin, being familiar with this county and the prosecutors, made some suggestions for the client to complete in order to mitigate the damages in his case. She also did her own independent investigation and determined that it would be difficult for the client to do what he was alleged to have done. She pointed this out to the prosecutor, who agreed to reduce the charge to a non-abstractable civil infraction that will not appear on the client’s driving history.
