Our client had 2 convictions for alcohol-related driving offenses; impaired driving in 2003 and operating with a high BAC in 2017. With the change in expungement laws he wished to set aside the first conviction. Attorney DeBruin drafted a memorandum in support of the required form that carefully set out why her client was eligible for expungement.
The Attorney General (and local prosecutor who was representing the Attorney General at the hearing) adamantly opposed the expungement. After two separate hearing dates, the judge agreed with Attorney DeBruin and granted the expungement. Our client now has the benefit of having this first conviction removed from his public record.
